2020

Well… Where should I start ?

The last time I posted here, I promised it won’t take me another 6 months to give you an article but of course, I couldn’t plan what was coming.

The UK government decided to lockdown the country on the 23rd of March 2020 and since then, we didn’t really had a lot of opportunities to travel.

My plan to go visit my friend Elise in Peru has obviously been cancelled and I just walked in my local park instead, doesn’t sound good, does it ? Though, I won’t complain as all my loved ones are safe and sound, that’s the most important thing to me right now.

I’ve been able to go back in France during the summer to see my family and it was so good to see all of them, to enjoy the sun, the ocean and to stop thinking about Covid-19 a little bit, I cherish my memories of my time with them so much, I’m so looking forward to see them again (I guess it won’t be before at least summer 2021…)

First thing I did when I arrived in Brittany ? Go to the beach !

We had an amazing weather during my few weeks in Brittany, I couldn’t have dreamed better. I went to the Glenan archipelago -which is, is my opinion, one of the most beautiful place on Earth- and had the chance to see the dolphins every time we went, it was totally the icing on the cake !

Unfortunately, as the number of Covid-19 cases started to rise up again in France, the UK decided to ban the travel corridor between England and France so I had to come back earlier than I planned to in London to be able to do my quarantine before to go back to work. It was disappointing to leave 2 weeks earlier but I had a wonderful holiday.

I had the chance to enjoy some staycation day trips since September -before we knew we were going into lockdown #2- : I went hiking in the Seven Sisters County Park (still one of my favourite places in England) , visited Hampton Court Palace and Highclere Castle for the first time and had a 3 days staycation in the Cotswolds.

Now I’m enjoying the Christmas holidays in my flat in London (doesn’t feel so christmassy when you can’t spend time with your family, doesn’t it ?) but I know that is for the best and we all need to stay at home and stay safe or we won’t be out of the woods shortly, so I’m doing my part.

I hope you and you loved ones are all doing well, stay safe ❤️
